Hello.

Thank you for visiting Agri Step.

I added manure and formic limestones in my field
before I start planting summer vegetables.

TOC

Today’s Field

Japanese mustard spinach is looking much bigger than before.

The yellow leaf looks like it got frosted.

In the beginning of April, a large amount of plants do get frost.

My lettuce was withered by frost…

I through it away from my land because the plants which got sick will adversely affect other plants.

The other lettuces are like this.

Potatoes are like this.

Nipping of Potato sprout

When I nipped potato sprouts, a small tuber appeared.

I’m going to harvest them before the end of May because it will be raining a lot with the beginning of the raining season around in Japan (June).

Preparing Summer Vegetables

Before planting summer vegetables, I scattered magnesium lime stones and chicken manure in my land.

Actually, you shouldn’t put them at the same time in case you have enough time.

This is magnesium limestone.

It became like this.

Magnesium

・Make much chlorophyll for Photosynthesis

・It makes phosphoric acid easier to work

Calcium

・Make pest resistance stronger

・Promote growth of roots

I planning to plant summer vegetables such as eggplants, cucumbers and okras.

It will be my first time to grow this type of vegetables, so I’ll be studying hard from now on.

Thank you for reading Agri Step.

See you next time.
