Hi!

Thank you for visiting Agri Step.

I picked the tuber’s bud this time so show you how I did.

I have a month left till harvest season.

I really want to observe the potatoes but I think I shouldn’t do so.

Otherwise, they won’t get bigger.

Field Diary -Potato-

Roots such potatoes, garlic and so on, need to get their buds picked in order to grow bigger.

Why is that?

The nutrients that were supposed to go to the buds, are going to the roots themselves.

However, some farmers would say that picking the potato’s buds might be the cause of some diseases.

In my opinion, people like bigger potatoes, so I picked the buds.

The potato buds are like this.

They seem good.

I will harvest them before the rainy season comes.

These are the flowers of potatoes.

Potatoes are from the same family as eggplants, so the flowers are very similar.

I hope they are growing into huge potatoes.

See you next time!
