Hi.
Thank you for visiting Agri Step again.
This column is about harvest lettuce and Japanese mustard spinach.
Japanese mustard Spinach picking
I planted Japanese mustard spinach which are made in New Zealand.
The germination rate is 90%.
The senior farmer who teach me grow it every season but he doesn’t do it for business.

I grew those spinach.
You can see lots of holes which were eaten by insects…
I hope they were really delicious for insects as well.
The farmer as I explained grew much bigger and better looks though he have never sprayed pesticide.
Lettuce Harvest
Spring planting lettuce usually harvest in May at Kyushu.
Since June, many insects appears so it will be hard to grow.

I found such a big insects inside of lettuce.
I should have harvested much sooner.
Not only bad lettuce but also better lettuces I grew such as like this.

I realized that if you want to grow lettuce in summer, you might use pesticide.
Potato harvest season is coming.
Must be fun!
Thank you for reading Agri Step.
