Hello.

Thank you for visiting Agri Step.

Today, I’m gonna explain how to get rid of aphids which came around the lettuces in this article.

Field Diary of Lettuces

My land’s lettuces got bigger than before and aphids attacked them.

You can see the black insects. Those are aphids.

You might think that’s weird and gross.

This lettuce was eaten by aphids recently.

Actually, if people accidentally eat the aphids without noticing, it would cause no harm to the human body.

The problem is the look of it, and the extra work to wash the vegetables.

That’s the reason why the customers often complain about those things so farmers usually prevent them.

Use Pesticide of Aphids

I used “Mospiran” which is not strong to kill them.

Why I choose this pesticide?

It doesn’t have carcinogen, making it less harmful to humans.

However, it has Neonicotinoid which has one of the theories that repel bees.

This theory has no confirmation so I used it but I should keep searching it.

I bought the liquid type of mospiran but there are plenty of other different types, so farmers choose the type depending on how to use.

I mixed it with water in watering can.

All pesticide has the period of around 90 days before harvest.

The shorter, the weaker.

It means that the weaker pesticides the less bad the for human body.

If farmer doesn’t follow the usage rules, the pesticide would keep affecting the products even though it reaches the customers table.

That’s why, the pesticide residue test is getting harder and harder recently.

Most of farmers make the spray schedule.
The mospiran can be used by the day before harvest.

The insects increase these days so I want to harvest lettuces.

I will make an article for it!

Thank you for reading Agri Step.
