Agri Step Field Diary

Hello.

Thank you for visiting Agri Step.

Some Potatoes got wind damages because it was heavy rainy and windy day few days ago.

I could watch the half of tuber shape.

I got to know the windy days are really bad for vegetables in this time.

Few days after I shoot the last picture, the tubers became like this.

It looks better.

The senior farmer who teach me how to grow them said those are not serious problem so I decide to keep grow them.

Today’s work

I cultivated the land which I had already done last time and made a mound.

In order to do it, I bought a new flat hoe.

Farmers use hoes depending on how they use.

The flat hoe use for making a ridge, weeding.

It’s known as the “all purpose hoe”.

I used “silver vinyl multi”.

Good points

・Reduce pest damages

・Herbicidal Action

・Control temperature rise

・Shed light on the whole leaf

The costs is three times high black multi although it has many benefits.

Land observation

Lettuce

Lettuces look good.

However, many aphids ate them so I think I should do something for preventing them.

Japanese mustard spinach

Japanese mustard spinachs are like this.

They grow well but some insects ate them as same as lettuce.

Senior farmer who teach me how to grow Japanese mustard spinach said this plant is fast to become big but mine is not.

It is maybe because of less nutrition.

Also, he said his spinach didn’t have pest damages at that time.

I don’t know why so I need to study about pests.

Potato

Potatoes get big and sprout.

I need to nip in the bud for making the potatoes bigger.

A frog came around my land.

It’s getting warm recently.

Thank you for reading Agri Step.
