Field Diary vol.2

2020 2/25
Agri Step Field Diary
2020年2月25日

Thank you for visiting my blog.

This time, I analyzed a piece of land I’ve fertilized before.

I waited for a good planting day because most of weather forecasters said it would snowing for a few days even
though I learned about manure which I need to fertilize by 2 weeks before planting.

So I’ve observed my field.

TOC

Found weeds in my field.

I divided the land in 2;

A side, I cultivated at that time.

On the B side ,I only removed the Field horsetails that had stronger roots.

Why I do like that;

More experienced farmers taught me that the cultivated field weeds mostly have soft roots so it would be easier to rip it off the ground.

I found a small Field horsetail this time in my B field but then I removed it.

These are often hated by farmers.

I wish they don’t grow up in A.

I found 2 weeds on both sides; Henbit and Bitter cress.

Both of them are spring weeds.

You might find some of them if you walk around and they inform you “Spring is coming.”

I took some of them from each field and felt that they did’t have strong roots.

It could be easy to remove them.

However, I don’t recommend you to weed in rainy day because;

・It takes too much effort to remove soil around weeds

・To keep the soil on field because it has nutritious components

What I leaned through this observation

Some Weeds are related with season.

Soft root weeds tend to grow up on cultivated field.

Thank you for reading!
